What this filter checks

This filter reads the operating status and includes two values: the service was shut down, or the brand was folded into another one and existing customers were migrated. Active and announced services do not appear.

Discontinued providers stay in the dataset instead of being deleted. A market overview consisting only of the brands advertising today hides its own history: which services vanished, who took over the user base and which promises quietly lapsed in the process.

Where users were migrated to and when a service was shut down are recorded as their own criteria in each provider profile, each with a source. The data of discontinued services stays as it is and is no longer updated.

The rule lives in the source code and is only read out here. It is a condition on catalogue criteria, nothing more.

At least one of the following conditions must hold.

  • Operating status is discontinued

  • Operating status is absorbed

Which level of evidence counts

This filter reads no criterion but a master data field. There is no confidence level for it. Confidence levels in detail

Not a ranking. The page lists providers for whom a statement is sourced. If someone is missing, it may be missing evidence, not the property.
