VPNs with evidence of working in China
1 of 85 providers in the dataset
What this filter checks
The criterion for working in China is checked. Two values are included: the provider states it officially and names the method, or independent reports document it without the provider advertising it. An explicit no and an unclear situation drop out.
This field is marked volatile. Blocking measures change in weeks, not in years. If the most recent source is older than six months, we mark the entry as possibly outdated instead of leaving it to look current. Check the retrieval date on every hit.
What is not stated here: whether the use is permitted, how fast the connection runs and whether it holds on any given day. The only thing evidenced is that a connection was documented. The technique behind it, usually some form of obfuscation, is a criterion of its own in the profile.
The rule lives in the source code and is only read out here. It is a condition on catalogue criteria, nothing more.
All of the following conditions must hold.
Usability behind the Great Firewall has the value stated by provider or per user reports
crypto.works_in_china
Whether the service can be used in China, distinguishing a statement by the provider from mere user reports. The situation can change within days because blocking is tightened around political events, so this entry only carries weight with a current, dated source. Comparable conditions apply to Iran, Russia and Turkmenistan.
Which level of evidence counts
For this filter the levels confirmed and provider claim count. Disputed and unsourced cells drop out. Confidence levels in detail
